Cortinametraggio, short film festival Mattia Napoli in the jury – Cinema

The countdown begins for the 19th edition of Cortinametraggio, the reference short film festival and hotbed of Italian talent that will take place in Cortina D’Ampezzo from March 12 to 17, 2024. While waiting to celebrate its first 19 years, the festival launches the official poster showing godmother Eleonora De Luca (Padrenostro, The Macaluso Sisters, Summer Time, The Mafia Only Kills In Summer) together with the artistic director Niccolò Gentili, traveling to Cortina. “My goal has always been to discover new talents and create connections between young people, productions and already established directors – said Maddalena Mayneri, president and founder of the event -; I am happy that many debutants managed to appear and make themselves known thanks to my festival I’m thinking of Valerio Vestos, Alessandro Capitani, Mattia Napoli, to name just a few.”

And Mattia Napoli, winner of the last edition of Cortinametraggio, is the first official jury of the 19th edition.

Never like this year will the spotlight be on young directors in the competition and beyond, who will have the opportunity to follow two workshops a day held by industry experts who will make their experience available, thus creating new employment opportunities. Cortinametraggio is a challenge that can be conquered every year thanks to the contribution of all the partners who believe in the project that will not only award important prizes, but also contribute financially to the creation of this new edition. To participate, the call for registration has been open since September 12 through the Filmfreeway platform, and in order to enrich the offer of the next edition, an international section dedicated to “Made In USA” cinema will also be opened. Rai Cinema Channel will also support the event with its prize.
